This week’s exclusive track is a demo from the upcoming Piney Gir album, tentatively titled “The Yearling”. Piney takes found sounds from pubs and clubs to create an atmosphere for only the lonely. “Oh to be surrounded by people and feel more isolated than ever; one becomes an island.” There Was A Drunk features billowing accordion and sorrowful cello (shaken not stirred) to sooth the sad soul.
This week’s track is from Sean Hoen’s solo album, The Liquor Witch, which came out late last year. Hoen is writing new material and drinking heavily in NYC.

Our song this week is a new track from Portland’s John Larsen! John has been working writing and recording the past couple of years but spends most of his time since 2003’s Kismet making puppets. Seriously, how rad a job is that?
