Wow, looks like we missed a couple weeks here! To make up for it, we’ll be doing a song every day from our release archives; today’s is Piney Gir’s “K-I-S-S-I-N-G” from 2004’s Peakahokahoo! Look for multiple releases from Piney this year, starting with the digital single for “Of All the Wonderful Things” off her forthcoming album, The Yearling…

Third exclusive track from London’s Piney Gir, “Miss Havisham” – It was a dark and stormy night and Piney locked herself in the attic with nothing but a pink guitar and a copy of “Great Expectations” what came out was this heartfelt tale of love and loss, add a tiny toy keyboard and a singing saw and go on this musical journey.

Another Piney Gir exclusive this week! “Say I’m Sorry – It’s been a hard day’s night, so take that hard-working songstress to Hawaii! Piney’s ’60’s pop take on heartache, sugar coats the awful truth of love and loss with bluegrass harmonies, marimba and shaky pineapple.
(NOTE–this was a limited-time MP3 and has been removed due to forthcoming single)

This week’s exclusive track is a demo from the upcoming Piney Gir album, tentatively titled “The Yearling”. Piney takes found sounds from pubs and clubs to create an atmosphere for only the lonely. “Oh to be surrounded by people and feel more isolated than ever; one becomes an island.” There Was A Drunk features billowing accordion and sorrowful cello (shaken not stirred) to sooth the sad soul.
